Di María had a special guest at his 25th birthday celebration dinner. The Argentine arrived at the ‘De María’ restaurant -practically his namesake- with his family and then shared a table with Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella, who is touring Europe, watching games and meeting players and coaches.
For Sabella, Ángel is essential. This became very clear after the match against Sweden: “Those four - Di Maria, Aguero, Messi and Higuain - will always play." With one proviso. Sabella is using the player as a left-sided midfielder, positioned slightly ahead of Gago and Mascherano.
